FY:NG - Fife Youth Next Generation Brass and Percussion next workshop will be on Sunday 20th September in Cardenden followed by a performance at the Fife Charities Band Anssociatio Contest on Saturday 3rd October in the Adam Smith in Kirkcaldy. Most of Dunfermline Youth players will be performing at these events also.

YOUTH BRASS
Dunfermline Town Band has always welcomed learners of any age to its folds.
However, Dunfermline Youth Brass as we know it today was initiated in April 2007. Formed with links through a brass project at a local primary school, it now has other members and has a strong core of dedicated and committed young players.
In this short time they have achieved so much, including a Bronze Silver at Brass in The Park 2008, a Gold in the novice section at the Scottish Open Youth Contest in 2008 as well as an array of prizes for solo and quartet performances including a Silver in the under-12s at the Scottish Youth Quartet Finals in 2009.
As well as this they have also performed at several concerts, one now proving to be an annual Christmas time event at Bellyeoman Primary School. Some pupils also play in the senior band, and most members also attend the Fife Youth:Next Generation Band, with some also attending the National Youth Brass Band of Scotland.
What a talented bunch!
We aim for enjoyment and learning for the pupils socially as well as musically and are planning a reward evening soon for all their hard work.
